Dare To Be Scared With SkyCable's Halloween Specials

Halloween can mean different things to different people. For the kids, it’s a time to have fun, for their imaginations to run wild as they wear different costumes and go out trick-or-treating. For teens and adults, it can be for exploring fears and the darker sides of reality. For many more in the country, it is a time for remembering those who have passed on, honoring their memories when they were alive. But the family as whole often loves to gather, and spend precious moments with each other, often in comfort while watching fun or thrilling Halloween specials in their big TV screens at home. This October 30 and 31, an entire host of SKY Select channels will air shows and movies that will find their own unique space in the viewers’ hearts – whether it be for lighthearted joy or nerve-wracking terror.

The warmest and fondest Halloween memories form during childhood. Among them were Halloween cartoon and movie marathons that can be watched all day. In Boomerang, kids who want to experience the classic antics of Garfield can tune-in to Garfield Special: Bewitched, 10am on October 31. In this hilarious misadventure, Garfield finds himself as a witch’s assistant, in his search for a cure to turn Odie back into a dog. Starting 11am, Boomerang will air the Scooby Doo Halloween Movie Marathon where fans can watch Mystery Inc get out of one hijink and into another.

Disney Junior has a halloween special for our youngest kids. By 8:30am on October 31, kids can watch the Jake and the Neverland Pirate’s “Stowaway Ghosts/Happy 100th Birthday” episode. Viewers will witness Pirate Mummy’s 1000th birthday and how Jake and his friends helped Hook get rid of trickster phantoms.

Movie treats fit for the entire family will be featured in Fox Family Movies. Ghostbusters airs by 9:55pm on October 31. Fans of this classic can watch how Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Sigourney Weaver handle ghosts and terrors in the most comedic way possible. Ghostbusters II follows at 11:40pm. In this sequel, the Ghostbusters deal with a resurgence of paranormal activity due to the presence of an ectoplasmic river beneath their city.

Fans of grim delights will enjoy the film offerings of Fox Action Movies. On October 30, 10pm, horror afficionados can watch the premier of Wer – a story about a peculiar man blindly charged for committing gruesome murders. A.J. Cook, Sebastian Roche, and Vik Sahay stars in this film about the rebirth of an unexpected legend. The following night, by 10pm, is the premiere of Dark Was the Night. Starring Kevin Durang and Lukas Haas, the story focuses on how the local sheriff faces the demons of his past as he deals with the evils that awoke in the trees.

Halloween movie specials grow even darker with Fox Movies Premium’s terrifying selections. In Devil’s Due, starring Allison Miller, Zach Gilford, and Sam Anderson, a young couple comes to grips with an unexpected turn of events – a pregnancy after a long and mysterious honeymoon night. The story will unfold starting 10pm on October 30. Action and suspense spills through the TV screen the following night, with the horror flick, The Pyramid. Ashley Hinshaw, James Buckley, and Denis O’Hare stars in this frightful story, where a group of american arheologists are trapped and hunted within a pyramid in the egyptian desert. Movie airs October 31, by 10pm.

Thrill, Asia's first and only movie channel dedicated 24/7 to the horror suspense genre, is also celebrating Halloween with THRILL-O-WEEN, a 24-hour movie marathon on October 31 starting 1:10am. Featured films in this marathon are Paranormal Activity 2, 3 & 4, The Ring, The Ring 2, The Amityville Horror, Shutter Island, The Uninvited, Halloween Resurrection, Rosemary’s Baby, and Sleepy Hollow.

Kango Express Is Now In The Philippines!

Are you fond of online shopping? It is indeed becoming a trend now here in the Philippines. Aside from getting great deals and discounts, what I love about it is the convenience that it offers through their door-to-door delivery service at a very affordable price (sometimes FREE).

We already have several online shops here in the country but, admit it, there are still items that are not offered here. Also, there are cheaper items that can be bought outside the country but the shipping may get in your way from getting it. It's either the shipping cost is too high or the store doesn't offer shipping to the Philippines at all! Agree?

Well, here's a great news for all those who love shopping online.

KANGO EXPRESS, the newest package forwarding service is now in the Philippines! Kango Express is a US-based company that enables consumers to buy items from online stores in the US and Europe and have them delivered right at your doorstep! You may find some other companies offering the same service but here are the REASONS WHY YOU'LL LOVE KANGO EXPRESS:

  • Warehouses in both the U.S. and U.K.
  • Unique model offering both Direct express service (door-to-door delivery) to 200+ countries as well as Consolidation service (pick-up location) in a growing number of countries
  • FREE resizing of packages to reduce cost 30-60% on average
  • FREE hold service
  • Payment by CC or Paypal
  • Buying service (coming soon)
  • Refer-a-Friend bonus
  • In house freight forwarding company allowing Kango to control the whole transportation process as well as accommodating larger shipments
  • Excellent customer service (consolidation countries also offer local customer service)
  • Competitive pricing and delivery times

Now, who's excited? Soon, Filipinos will be enjoying this new shipping service because Kango Express will be officially launched in the Philippines on October 28, 2015. Mr. Michael Brockert, Kango Express' Managing Partner will be here to witness the formal entry of the shipping service into the Philippine market.

"Happify your shop and ship experience with Kango Express!"

Buhay Na Buhay Ka with the NEW Black Mamba Energy Drink With Guarana

Last October 9, 2015, the newest energy drink in the country, Black Mamba, was officially introduced to the public and the crowd in Eastwood City were among the firsts to try it. A press conference was also held at T.G.I.Friday's Eastwood where the event was graced by one of Gilas Pilipinas' Star Player and Black Mamba's endorser Marc Pingris, Black Mamba's President and General Manager Mr. German Panghulan, Product Manager Mr. Aldrin Arce, and Advertising Consultant Mr. Joel Salindong. Too bad though because the Honorable Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, one of Black Mamba's endorsers, were not able to join us that night.

Mr. German Panghulan - Black Mamba President & Gen. Manager, and Mr. Aldrin Arce - Product Manager
While most energy drinks in the market use sugar as its primary ingredient and source of energy that it provides to the consumer, the new Black Mamba Energy Drink has Guarana as one of its powerful ingredients. Guarana is a dried paste made from the crushed seeds of a woody shrub that is native to Brazil and parts of Amazon. It contains twice the concentration of caffeine that can be found in coffee seeds. Once consumed, the caffeine from the seeds get slowly absorbed by the body making the release of energy last longer for up to 10 hours. Therefore, one bottle of Black Mamba may already be enough to keep you energized for the whole day. Having said that, Guarana is what sets Black Mamba apart from its competitors because it is the only energy drink in the country that has it and that's also what makes it a healthier choice for those who are always active and on-the-go.

Marc Pingris entertained some questions from the press before heading to the event

With Guarana being native to Brazil, a mardi gras-styled party was held at the heart of Eastwood City after the presscon featuring some of the acts where the country is known for. A live and colorful performance of the New Generation Sex Bomb Dancers with the samba beat of Batangas Drumbeaters stirred up the crowd and set up the Brazilian feel at the venue. The Escola Brasiliera de Capoeira cheered up the crowd as they showcase the traditional Brazilian martial art capoeira. There were also games and other physical activities conducted for all guests to encourage them to try out the new energy drink and feel buhay na buhay as they participate.

Check out these photos taken during the fun and festive event.

The NEW Mercato Centrale at BGC is now open!

Filipinos love food that's why places like Mercato is a big hit in the metro. I'm sure a lot have missed the Midnight Mercato at BGC, the place where food trips, mid-shift breaks, or even after-party bonding were mostly enjoyed. Well, good news to all who are up for late night food trips because Mercato Centrale has recently re-opened at their new and more accessible location.

You may now find Mercato at the corner of 7th avenue and 25th street at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. If you're not familiar with the place, just look for this huge "Between the Lines" art mural, popularly known as "The Spaceman".

The new location of Mercato Centrale is just right in front of the "Between The Lines" art mural, popularly known as "The Spaceman" by the art duo Cyrcle from Los Angeles.

The festive relaunch of the new Mercato Centrale filled everyone's tummy with great food from our old-time favorites, as well as the new stores that will surely have us keep on coming back.
