App Review: Now Showing

Do you love watching movies? Then this app is for you! Track movies currently showing in cinemas, movie schedules, and upcoming movies are just some of the features that this app offers. Before I give my judgment, here's a quick walkthrough of the app.

Now Showing tab shows all movies currently being shown in cinemas.	Cinemas tab shows movie schedules of cinemas nearby or all cinemas in the list.	Upcoming tab shows all upcoming movies with synopsis and trailer.

Upon selecting a movie from the list, you will see the synopsis and cast of the film. You will also see two options: Showtimes – show movie schedules from different cinemas Watch Trailer – view trailer of the movie

It shows the movies’ synopsis, trailer, and casts You get to browse movies by Cinemas You can easily view available screening times and you can sort it by cinemas near you or all cinemas in the list

Only available for iOS users (limited to iTouch & iPhone devices) Upcoming movies show Showtimes and since it’s not showing yet, then this option won’t display anything. This would have been significant if it shows when will it be shown in theaters instead. They show a rating per movie. However, if you’re not familiar with how it works, then these numbers might not mean anything to you. I had to go to their site to be able to understand the ratings they use. Apparently, they are just referring to third-party movie review sites like Rotten Tomatoes to get the ratings.

What we would like to see:

• An Android or Windows Mobile version of this app
• Allow users to post and view reviews of the movie
• Link to mall sites for possible online ticket booking/reservation
• Allow users to set an alarm/reminder for the upcoming movies

These are just my suggestions. I know some of these are hard or, maybe, impossible to implement. Overall, I’m starting to like the app. I’m sure this will be very useful if I plan to watch a movie.
