Hold. Dock. Hop. Experience Flying Trapeze Philippines at The Fort

For someone who can’t even ride a ferris wheel, trying out the flying trapeze is definitely one of the most nerve-racking activities I did in my entire life! Despite having this great fear of heights, the encouragement given by the staff is what made me really go for it! They are very supportive and you’ll really feel safe as you’ll still here instructions from them while you’re in the air. It took me hours of watching though before I finally got convinced to try it. They seemed to be really enjoying it and even those who are first-timers do it effortlessly! I'm just seeing it in circus acts and thought this isn't something I can always do anywhere so might as well give it a go.

I had my safety belt placed, lined up and waited for my turn. And when it was finally my turn, I started climbing the 25-foot ladder and I had to stop at some point because I can already feel my knees shaking halfway through. Reaching the top is already an achievement for me! The platform is so narrow that I cannot avoid looking down and see how high I was at that time. There are two crews waiting in the platform. You'll feel really safe and they'll give you clear instructions before you go. I just have a thing with heights so my experience may not be similar to the excitement you'll feel when you're at the top. And finally the time came. This is it! Hold! Dock! Hop! The moment I jumped off the platform, I felt like I was just a dead body swinging in the air. I admit I am really disappointed because I wasn't able to do what was planned. With several more tries, I’m pretty sure I’ll get one perfect swing. Even more, I’ll be able to swing upside down with my knees on the bar. (Yeah, I wish!haha) Check out my not-so-flattering ride here:

But, hey, don’t get me wrong! It was such a fun and “fulfilling” experience especially for an acrophobic like me. I’m just very happy that I was able to “somewhat” conquer my fear of heights and do something that I only see in circus.
