Encantadia has been one of the most popular fantasy series in mid-2000s. During that time, it was said to be the grandest and most ambitious production for Philippine television. It's a no surprise anymore seeing the TV specials on how it was conceptualized and the execution is just as perfect! In fact, the show has actually won several recognitions including Most Popular Television Program, Most Favorite TV Show, Best TV Series/Soap Opera, and Highly Commended TV Series by Asian Television Awards.
All those who have been following the series before were in excitement as soon as a remake was announced last year. And just this week, the cast were officially revealed to the public. In the end, Ruru and Gabbi were lucky to have been chosen to play their dream roles Ybarro and Alena, respectively. Completing the Encantadia Sang'gres are Kylie Padilla as Amihan, Glaiza De Castro as Pirena, Sanya Lopez as Danaya.
