Stepping Out The Musical is a story about different individuals of different ages with different problems to deal with. Tap dance school has been like their scapegoat where they meet once a week to forget and just enjoy. Each character has a story to tell that eventually unfolds as the story progresses.
Angela Padilla as Mavis |
Mavis, the tap dance instructor, has been working so hard for a living and is very problematic with her irresponsible husband.
Christine Flores as Andy |
Raymund Concepcion as Geoffrey |
The only singles in class, Lynne and Dorothy, wished to love and be loved someday.
Cara Barredo as Lynne |
Natalie Everett as Dorothy |
Dorothy, the old maid, is busy taking care of her beloved mother.
The "bar" girls, Rose, Sylvia, and Maxine, would always go for a drink every after class. They usually talk about their lives and how they want it to be.
Bituin Escalante as Rose |
Rose worries to much about her son and would love to have the best for him.
David Shawn Delgado as Sylvia |
Sylvia, the biggest among the group, got problems with her size. '80s is considered the fitness era and that where she’s probably coming from.
EJ Villacorta as Maxine |
Maxine is not in good terms with Andy because of their differences. She then revealed that they're basically the same. It's just that she conceals her lack of self-confidence with her bubbly personality.
Joy Virata as Vera |
Vera is very OC, allergic to germs, really organized and always made up. She makes it a point to always clean the toilet and organize the things in the studio before and after each class. Her revelation towards the end is probably the reason for her being bold and conscious.
Sheila Francisco as Mrs. Fraser |
Stepping Out is so much fun to watch! Each had their own limelight. Behind every laughter is a very touching story of reality. Just like the characters in the story, each one of us have our own way of coping up with our problems. Furthermore, each one has our own way of concealing it. No matter how we hide these issues and forget all the stress it’s bringing us, at the end of the day, we all have to face it.
