Miss Saigon and The Voice PH Alumni Lead 5th Re-staging of Rak of Aegis

They're back! They're bigger! They're Rak of Aegis!

Rak of Aegis, one of the (if not the most) well-loved all Filipino musical theater productions, is set to hit the stage once again this June. Rak of Aegis just keeps getting better and better and the family has grown even bigger since its first run in 2014.

It has been said that not two shows are the same. With several artists alternating on different roles plus the freedom to play around with the characters, that is deemed to be true. Now on their 5th re-run (and probably the last run for the show), new faces will be joining the colorful and crazy yet fun community in Villa Venizia.

Among the new faces of Rak is Tanya Manalang. Tanya just came back from the successful London staging of the musical Miss Saigon where she played the role of Kim. Rak of Aegis is going to be her first Filipino musical and her first production with PETA. She will be playing the role of Aileen.

TANYA MANALANG: “I’ve been hearing great things about [Rak of Aegis], birit musical to e; that in itself, challenge na yun.” she shares. “But I’m just gonna keep training in my spare time, to use the right technique; ‘di naman ako talaga biritera, but I have to finish the show without injuring my voice.
Another new face in Rak is The Voice of the Philippines runner-up Alisah Bonaobra. She has no theater nor acting experience and joining Rak of Aegis is something that's definitely new to her. Despite being nervous, Alisah is very grateful of this opportunity given to her by being part of such an established production. She is also playing the role of Aileen, which she said she can very much relate to.

Also new to the Rak stage are powerhouse veterans up-and-coming theatre actors Vince Lim (as Kenny),  Carla Laforteza (as Mary Jane), Tricia Jimenez and Joann Co (alternating as Mercy), and Jon Santos (as Fernan).

Reprising the role of “Aileen” is Kapuso breakout star Aicelle Santos and TV/theater actress Kim Molina. Several talented Venizia veterans are back as well, including Benj Manalo, Jerald Napoles, Pepe Herrera, Myke Salomon, Poppert Bernadas, OJ Mariano, Renz Verano, Loy Martinez, Shiela Valderrama-Martinez, Sweet Plantado, Kakai Bautista, Neomi Gonzales, Juliene Mendoza, Gilbert Onida, Jimi Marquez, Phi Palmos, Ron Alfonso, Carlon Matobato, Gio Gahol, John Moran, Paeng Sudayan, Roi Calilong, Gimbey Dela Cruz, Abi Sulit, Via Antonio, Gold Villar, Teetin Villanueva, Raflesia Bravo, Jet Barrun, and Gab Pangilinan.
