GMA Afternoon Prime presents Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa
The 1987 Ishmael Bernal masterpiece is coming back to life as GMA does a remake of Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa.

The modernized version of the hit 80's film revolves around the life of two women intertwined by lost love, which will be brought to life by top Kapuso artists Julie Anne San Jose as Santina, Benjamin Alves as Ephraim, Martin del Rosario as Kiko and LJ Reyes as Angeli.

Completing the powerhouse cast are Ara Mina as Mariz, Jean Garcia as Diony, Victor Neri as Cesar, Allan Paule as Hector, Geleen Eugenio as Yoleng, Janna Dominguez as Chona, and Lharby Policarpio as Boggs.

Julie Anne San Jose as Santina
Originally portrayed by Lorna Tolentino, Julie Anne is Santina, an orphaned girl who was forced to work hard after her aunt’s death. Later on, she will work in one of the restaurants of Diony played by Ms. Jean Garcia. Due to her kindness, Diony will send her to school and treat her as her own daughter.

Tomiho stars in their first every movie, Foolish Love

Former PBB housemates-turned-partners, Tommy Esguerra and Miho Nishida, collectively known as Tomiho, stars in their first every movie, Foolish Love.

They may have already appeared in several Kapamilya shows, but doing their first movie together is a mix of both challenging yet fun experience for them. Despite feeling the pressure of being teamed up with some of the more experienced actors like Jake Cuenca and Angeline Quinto, the help and support of their co-actors and Direk Joel made them pull their first movie project off.

Direk Joel was also impressed with their acting and the chemistry that this real-life couple has. Lamangan assures the viewers that the pair is really good, they know what they do, and that they are true professionals. This is the first time they've worked together in a movie and the Foolish Love director were nothing but praises on the couple.
"Makikita 'nyo ang excitement ng kanilang characters. Makikita 'nyo ang totoong chemistry ng isang nagmamahalan dito sa pelikulang ito." - Joel Lamangan

Tomiho also admitted that they had challenges with some of the scenes they did in the movie. Their kissing scene, as Miho described, is awkward at first. Not that they have not done it as a couple, but it's different when they have a lot of people watching them.

For Tommy, his most challenging scene is his confrontation with Miho's boss. In the scene, he was supposed to throw a punch at the guy, which is very difficult for him that's why they had to shoot the scene quite a number of times.

Witness the magic of Tomiho loveteam in their first ever movie together, Foolish Love. In cinemas nationwide starting January 25.

PETA's Care Divas to be restaged this February

PETA restages Care Divas as part of its 50th Anniversary celebration
QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Philippine Educational Theater Association’s (PETA) comedy musical Care Divas returns to open its 50th anniversary with a whopping 50 shows from February 3, 2017 until March 19, 2017 at The PETA Theater Center.

Care Divas is a disarmingly funny and candid musical drama about 5 transgender Overseas Filipino Workers in Israel who work as care givers in the morning and transform into glamorous drag queen performers at night. While desperate to make ends meet, they also struggle to search for acceptance in a foreign land.

The musical dominated the 2011 Philstage Gawad Buhay! Awards, bagging seven trophies including Outstanding Stage Direction, Outstanding Musical Direction, Outstanding Musical Production and Outstanding Ensemble Performance for a Musical.

The play’s wickedly funny text, written by award-winning playwright Liza Magtoto, tells of the lives of the main characters: the kind and loving Chelsea, the often-sarcastic group leader Shai, the ditzy Thalia, the bubbly Kayla, and the ill-tempered Jonee.

Vincent de Jesus’ musical score leaves audiences humming tunes as it weaves through the narrative. Under the direction of Maribel Legarda, the creative team behind the show includes costume designer John Abul, lighting designer Jonjon Villareal, visual artist and set designer Leo Abaya, and contemporary dancer and choreographer Carlon Matobato.

Care Divas includes a powerhouse cast of theater actors: PETA artists Melvin Lee, Vince De Jesus, Ron Alfonso, Dudz Teraña, Eko Baquial, Jason Barcial, Buddy Caramat, Gio Gahol, Joan Bugcat, Eric Dela Cruz, Joseph Madriaga, and Gold Villar; 's plus guest artists Ophir Burton, Ricci Chan, Red Concepcion, Jef Flores, Paul Holme, Sherry Lara, Thou Reyes, Leo Rialp, and Myke Salomon.

Care Divas is showing from February 3, 2017 until March 19, 2017, (Tuesday-Sunday, 3:00p.m. and 8:00 p.m) at the PETA Theater Center.
