Oedo Japanese Restaurant

I love Japanese food! Oedo Japanese Restaurant is just some of the few Japanese restaurants in the country that is authentic yet reasonably priced.

I, together with other foodies, was invited by Zomato to get a taste of what Oedo has to offer. Arriving quite early at the venue, I took a seat and enjoyed the homy feel of the al fresco area while sipping on this refreshing mango shake and catching up on my blog posts.

I really loved the place. It's very cozy and the ambiance is really inviting especially at night when the lights and the japanese lamps are lit. It just adds up to the authenticity feel of the place, together with the fixtures and the interiors.

We're lucky we were joined by the owner of Oedo, Sir Jay, who's an architect by profession and his passion for food made him venture out into the restaurant business. He served us quite a handful of dishes Oedo has to offer and I can say that everything tastes really good!

Of all the dishes we had, here are some of my favorites:

OEDO MAKI - it's a combination of crabsticks, unagi, and cucumber. The top cone has cheese in it and some special "secret" ingredients. Whatever those are, the chef did make a good combination and that made this dish on top of my fave list!

CRUNCH ROLL SUSHI - The texture is just perfect and I love how the shrimp, eel cucumber, and crabstick were combined into this bite-sized treats.

OKONOMI YAKI - it's like a "Japanese Pizza". There's so much ingredients inside but the most distinctive for me are the meat and the CHEESE! Not advisable for dating couple...because it's so huge and heavy to eat, you can actually feed a whole barangay! (of course, that's me exaggerating)

SO SABA YAKI - With its unique "Instagrammable" presentation alone, you definitely shouldn't skip this dish. It's a deliciously marinated mackerel that is torched right in front of you as you order it. It is best consumed immediately after getting torched.

WAGYU A5 - So tender. So juicy. It could almost (literally) melt in your mouth.

So, those are the dishes that made it on top of my fave list. Here are the rest of the dishes we had during our foodie meetup:

CHUTORO SASHIMI (medium fatty tuna)

TOFU TUNA SALAD

WAKAME TUNA SALAD

BEEF CURRY

HAMACHI KABUTANI

KATSU CURRY

EBI TEMPURA

TAKOYAKI

And there you have it! The next time you crave for Japanese food, try and visit Oedo Japanese Restaurant located at Scout Alcaraz Corner Santo Domingo Avenue, Santo Domingo, Quezon City.

Of course, we couldn't end the day without a groufie with my fellow Zomato foodies! You guys were awesome! 'Til our next Zomato Foodie Meetup!
