P.A.R.D. Album Launch

It all started with a hilarious music video that went viral.

P.A.R.D, an all-male group initially consisting of Antonio Aquitania, Boy 2 Quizon, RJ Padilla, and Roadfill Sparks then later on joined by Paolo Contis, premiered in the longest-running gag show Bubble Gang. Them wanting to have a trademark and come up with something for Bubble Gang, the group started conceptualizing an original content that's catchy and came up with an original song and music video.

It actually took them about eight months before they were able to release their first video. The group admitted that there are times that they can't think of anything to write and decided to collaborate with the team, Maduming Kwarto. In fact, Kwek-kwek is a serious song written by a group of students and, since Bubble Gang is a known gag show, they put a little twist to it. They recorded the song then shot the video in Baguio. They presented their first music video, Kwek-kwek, to the Bubble Gang staff and, luckily, they liked the idea!
"Naging launch pad and Bubble Gang since sa amin lahat ng materials. Nung umpisa, apat lang sila (P-adilla, A-quitana, R-oadfill, D-os/Quizon) and nag-guest ako sa sumunod na video which is 'Saging'. Nakita namin yung collaboration of minds - creative ang grupo. We saw that it's beyong comedy already. Maganda yung visuals, di kami nagpapatawa pero nakakatawa. So sayang kung di ituloy-tuloy", Contis said as he recalls how the group started their "baby" project.
With the success of Kwek-kwek, the group got so motivated and came up with more music videos. They collaborated with experts from different genres like hip-hop, RnB, EDM, reggae, and many more. All their viral music videos and songs were then compiled into their self-titled album released by PolyEast Records.
"Halos lahat kami lumaki na sa industriya so I can say na kami na rin ang director ng music video. 'Yun kasi ang pinaka-last ng video na ginawa naming so more or less alam na namin kung paano gawin. Although challenging 'yung animation which took sometime bago na-achieve yung gusto namin", Quizon shares.
Each member is equally brilliant and has something to contribute. Quizon also said that the group has showcased each member's ability to experiment with comedy and narrating through well-crafted music videos. Contis even added that, though he's been always teased by the group, Roadfill actually has the most contribution in terms of creativity and concepts. It didn't came as a surprise anymore because Roadfill is the other half of the Youtube sensation, Moymoy Palaboy, and their videos were really a hit back then. On the other hand, Aquitania also included his Ilocano and Kapampangan catchphrases, and Padilla's famous 'Ayoko nyan' lines in every song.
"Di namin inisip na magiging album ang direksyon ng PARD. Kasi iniisip lang namin yung show. Na-produce namin to kasi masaya kaming gawin regardless kung ano man ang maging outcome. Kaya kami limang utak, magkakaiba ng opinion minsan, magkakaiba ng istilo pero pag pinagsama-sama mo, yung collaboration of minds - napakaganda ng outcome." - Quizon
In an interview, Padilla said that the group doesn't really care if no one is supporting them. It is indeed hard to please everyone. But that won't stop the group from creating music and hopes that someday, people will notice what they do and the fact that they enjoy doing it.
"We're not actors who are trying to sing. We're actors who are trying to show people what we want to do in a form of a song. Nag-eenjoy kami and gusto naming i-share yun sa publiko", Contis added.

The self-titled album, P.A.R.D., includes five songs and five music videos and is already available in the market. The group will be promoting their album and you may catch them in their upcoming live performances on these dates:
