What movie made me fall in love with watching movies?

Be it local or foreign film, any movie that has a good plot or special effects makes me want to watch it. Those are just the things I’m looking for in a movie. The first movie that pops up my mind when asked is Titanic. It is the only movie that I’ve watched in cinemas 8 times! Yup, and that includes their 3D release last 2012. Aside from the inspiring love story shown through Jack and Rose, I’m simply amazed with how the people behind the film created it. From the story to the visual effects. Because of this film, I became really interested in documentaries investigating the truth behind the tragedy and it also made me curious on how movies, with really good special effects, were created.

How GMovies is the ultimate pocket app for your movie fix

Globe is bringing us yet another innovation that moviegoers will surely love: GMovies. I’ve tried several movie apps and I can say this one is, so far, the most promising. After checking out the app, I’ve found some features that are common with the other movie apps, and there’s this one feature that I find really useful and will make every movie experience very convenient.

So, here are the features of the GMovies app:

NOW SHOWING

GMovies_Now Showing01

Shows schedule of the movie per cinema

Shows the movie plot and rating from top movie rating sites

Allows you to share movie information through Facebook, Twitter, or Email

COMING SOON

Also shows the movie plot and an option to share it but, of course, no rating and schedule yet

CINEMAS

GMovies_Cinemas01 GMovies_Cinemas02 GMovies_Cinemas03
Enables you to browse ‘Now Showing’ movies and schedule by cinemas

MY TICKETS

This is the feature I’m talking about. GMovies allows you to book your movie tickets thru the app. Currently, booking tickets is only available to Ayala Malls Cinemas. Once the developers get more cinemas to tie up with their app, this one will definitely be a sure hit!

GMovies_My Tickets
My Tickets tab will show you tickets you have booked thru the app

You can only buy tickets from the app when you see the “Buy Tickets” icon

Upon selecting the movie schedule, you will then be asked to select your seats. This will just be available to cinemas and movies that offer “Reserved Seating”

You can pay your tickets online in two ways: Credit Card and MPass (for Ayala Malls Cinemas Sure Seats members)

Paying thru credit card, though, charges the customer an additional Php 20. But why?! Thought we have a law on this?

Anyway, what’s Php 20 when booking your movie tickets and seats would be this convenient. Agree?

Now that you’ve seen what this app offers, here are additional features that I’d love to see in the upcoming versions of the app:
  • More cinema partnerships
  • Advanced ticket booking for upcoming movies in the Coming Soon tab
  • Complete screening schedule
  • A reminder/alarm for the movie you have purchased thru the app
