Karylle has just recently launched her latest album under PolyEast Records entitled "A Different Playground" in Eastwood City.

A Different Playground, as she compared with her past albums, shows her playful side as a person, songwriter, and performer. As described by Yael, Karylle's style of writing is like a stream of consciousness. It's like anything goes. No definite structure. It's just her being silly and creative at the same time.
One of the songs that she wrote for the album is the upbeat track "Can't Shut Up" inspired by his husband Yael who loves to talk and is a big storyteller according to her. She also showed her versatility in the songs "Half A Million" and "Sunny Daze".
Karylle also collaborated with some artists in her latest album. She has worked with her childhood friend, Robin Nievera, for the song "Sunflowers". She also included the song "Magbalik Ka Na Mahal", which she sang in the musical Rama Hari where she played as the female lead Sita. The song was composed by no less than Maestro Ryan Cayabyab and Bienvenido Lumbera. Others songs in the album include Kiko Salazar's "Baliktanaw", Tito Cayamanda's "Paano Ko Tuturuan ang Puso", and the classic song "Tenderly".
In this album, Karylle is also introducing her new band, The Passport Holders. The band is composed of musical director and saxophonist Alvin Cornista, bassist Piox Asparen, guitarist Edwin Dimaranan, and drummer Chris Cantada.
