IN PHOTOS: Rak of Aegis The Musical

Rak of Aegis
Rak of Aegis is one of the most successful original Filipino musicals in the country that features songs of the iconic 90s band, Aegis, including "Luha", "Halik", "Sinta", "Basang-basa sa Ulan", "Sayang Na Sayang", "Christmas Bonus", and a lot more.

For someone who hasn't seen Rak of Aegis yet, the musical has greatly exceeded my expectations and I still can't get over it!

I admit, I'm a Rak virgin! And with the raves from the previous runs, my expectations of the show is quite high. I am just so glad that the reviews I've read online and the reactions I've seen from my friends who've seen it before (which I thought back then is quite exaggerated) is actually true. Days after I've seen the show, I still find myself (unconsciously) singing the songs from the musical. In short, LSS! (If you've seen the show already, I would love to read your thoughts in the comments section below.)

The Press Night held last June 15, 2 days before the premier, featured some of the new members of the cast: Tanya Manalang as Aileen, Carla Guevarra-Laforteza as Maryjane, Jon Santos as Fernan, Vince Lim as Kenny, and Joann Co as Mercy. The rest of the cast is just as exceptionally good and had delivered a superb performance that makes me want to see the show again.

The story of Rak of Aegis revolves in issues that are not really new to us, Filipinos: floods, young singer's dream of stardom, love triangle, developers who only care for their properties, communities begging for the help of the government, just to mention a few. The show is very relatable because, in one way or another, we've experienced these issues and we often hear or read them in news.

Anyway, enough of the talking. The following video and images may convince you further to watch the fifth and final run of Rak of Aegis happening from June 17 to August 28, 2016 at the PETA Theater Center.
